StoryKiddos.in ("Story Kiddos", "we", "our", or "us") values your privacy and is committed to handling personal data responsibly and transparently. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, process, and protect your information when you use the Story Kiddos mobile application and related services ("Service").

This policy is designed with reference to applicable Indian laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), and relevant platform policies such as Google Play policies.

Important: Story Kiddos is designed for use by adults only. Users must be at least 18 years old to create accounts or submit voice recordings.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

a. Account Information

Email address
Authentication information through email/password or Google Sign-In
Profile and account preferences

b. Voice Recordings

To generate personalized story narration, we collect voice recordings created through live in-app microphone recording only.

The Service does not permit uploading pre-recorded audio files.

Voice recordings may include:

A required spoken consent phrase
Reference voice samples used to generate story narration

c. Story and Usage Information

Story selections and playback history
Generated audio content
Basic technical and diagnostic information

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information only for legitimate operational purposes, including:

Creating and managing user accounts
Generating personalized story narration using your submitted voice samples
Providing playback and cached story audio within the app
Maintaining account security and preventing misuse or unauthorized voice cloning
Supporting purchases, subscriptions, and story pack access
Responding to support requests and legal obligations

Closed-Loop Usage Restriction: Story Kiddos currently supports narration only for curated stories available within the app. Users cannot generate arbitrary speech or upload custom text for voice synthesis.

3. Voice Consent and User Responsibility

By submitting a voice recording, you confirm and represent that:

You are at least 18 years old
The submitted voice belongs to you
You voluntarily consent to the use of your voice for story narration generation within the Service
You will not submit another person's voice without their explicit authorization

You are solely responsible for the legality and authorization of any voice data submitted through your account.

4. Children's Privacy

Story Kiddos produces family-oriented story content but is intended to be operated only by adults.

We do not knowingly permit or encourage submission of voice recordings belonging to minors. Users must not upload or submit children's voices without appropriate legal authorization.

If we become aware that unauthorized minor voice data has been submitted, we may remove such data and suspend related accounts.

5. Data Storage and Processing

We use a combination of trusted third-party cloud providers and secure cloud processing infrastructure to operate the Service.

Authentication and account systems: Managed using Google Firebase services
Storage infrastructure: Generated story audio and related files may be stored using Cloudflare R2 object storage
Voice processing infrastructure: Voice synthesis processing may occur on secure third-party cloud GPU infrastructure operated by us

Some processing or storage may occur outside India depending on infrastructure availability and cloud providers.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Users may delete voice profiles within the app.

When a voice profile is deleted:

Associated generated story audio and active voice profile data are removed from operational systems
Voice synthesis processing for that profile stops

For fraud prevention, abuse investigation, legal compliance, and dispute resolution purposes, we may retain limited consent-related voice recordings and associated audit records for a limited period after deletion.

Retained audit recordings are not used for generating new story narration after deletion.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or license your voice recordings or generated audio to advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.

We may share limited information with:

Cloud infrastructure and storage providers required to operate the Service
Payment processors for subscriptions or purchases
Legal authorities where required by applicable law

8. AI and Synthetic Audio Disclosure

Generated story narration is AI-generated synthetic audio created using submitted voice samples. It is not a live recording.

The Service is intended solely for private, family-oriented entertainment purposes within the app.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information, including encrypted communications and restricted infrastructure access.

However, no digital system can guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:

Access to your information
Correction of inaccurate data
Deletion of eligible data
Withdrawal of consent
Submitting grievances or complaints

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updated versions will be posted within the app or associated website.
